Abbey School

About us

Abbey School is an independent special school for pupils aged 4 to 19 with autism, some of whom have additional learning difficulties or behaviours that challenge. We're based in the heart of Chester, in Grade II* listed buildings on Abbey Square dating back to 1754, giving our pupils a genuinely unique and characterful place to learn.

Our aim is to be the very best of our kind in the United Kingdom. Every member of our team plays a part in improving life chances through education, using a child-centred approach backed by strong therapeutic support, so that every pupil can build the confidence and independence to thrive.
