Education Transition Worker
Ancora House School
Reference: SEC/26/348096
Ancora House School is an outstanding provision based in Cheshire West and Chester. Our Headteacher and our Governors wish to recruit an outstanding Education Transitions Worker to join our dedicated and experienced team.
Ancora House School has two sites, one at Ancora House, Tier 4 CAMHS unit, Countess of Chester and the community provision at Castle Park, Frodsham. This post is based in Ancora House, Hospital Site, Chester.
We offer an exciting and dynamic environment away from the constraints of a mainstream classroom; we encourage all staff to explore and develop their interests in order to enrich our young people’s experience with us; we operate within a culture of high warmth and high expectation.
The successful candidate will be able to adapt their skills flexibly and creatively to meet the needs of our learners with empathy and sensitivity. Trauma informed practice underpins the work of the school; person centred approaches and positive relationship building enables our learners to re-connect with their education and to make good progress despite their difficulties.
Our curriculum is built around individual needs, some learners will be accessing learning at a high level, whilst others will need activities to re-engage them with learning.
If you can bring skills, warmth and passion for learning, then we would love to see your application.
Visits to the school are welcomed, to arrange a time, please contact the Deputy Head Teacher, Sheila Kennedy, sheila.kennedy@ancora.cheshire.sch.uk.
Thank you for your interest in this role and our school.
Amanda Lacey, Headteacher
The School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
The successful applicant will be subject to all relevant pre-employment checks, including an enhanced DBS check with children's barred list check. In line with Keeping Children Safe in Education, the School may also carry out an online search as part of its due diligence on shortlisted candidates.
